It started with an idea....

...one that soon turned into a movement; something to unite the world through one university organization.

The Boston University Exchange Student Ambassadors were founded in the Spring semster of 2013. In addition to a mentorship program, this club provides opportunities for all SMG Ambassadors and visiting/exchange students to intermingle as a large group. The Exchange Student Ambassadors coordinate events—cultural and/or social—to allow all group members to get to know one another.

In order to help exchange and visiting international students transition to life in Boston and at Boston University, the Exchange Student Ambassador program pairs interested exchange students with current students studying at Boston University. This pairing allows the exchange and visiting students to learn the ropes of the University and deepens their understanding of American culture. The partnership also benefits the Exchange Student Ambassadors as it provides them an opportunity to learn about a different culture, to lead events and programs, and, when they get lucky, to meet students who attend the universities where they plan to study abroad in a future semester.
